Chef Andrea Calstier’s passion for a seasonally driven cuisine reflects his experience cooking from a young age in France at Michelin star restaurants including Restaurant Christophe Bacquie in Le Castellet and Daniel in NYC with Chef Daniel Boulud.

“We wanted the new restaurants to truly reflect who we are at our core. We wanted every aspect, from the food to the ambiance, to be a genuine expression of our deep love for our region, Provence and its culinary specialties as well as a reflection of the lifestyle of French southerners.“

About the Artist

Frédéric Forest x La Bastide by Andrea Calstier - Cenadou

The artist’s collaboration with the founders of La Bastide by Andrea Calstier and Cenadou, Elena and Andrea, began in 2018 with the opening of their first French restaurant in New York, Papilles. After meeting with the artist in his Parisian atelier, he prepared a series of minimal artworks that ultimately became part of Papilles’ decor. For this new collaboration, Frédéric immersed himself in the cultures of both restaurants, creating a series of exclusive works, tailored to reflect Cenadou and La Bastide by Andrea Calstier’s emblematic location in North Salem and attachment to the South of France, a region that is dear to both chef Andrea Calstier, his wife Elena Oliver, and the artist who spends his Summer in Provence with his family.
